The South West Coast Path is a classic 1,000k walk from Minehead to Bournemouth. In 2018, Ian and I completed the first half of the this walk from Minehead to Falmouth. The 500k ordeal was wet, windy and cold, often sheltering in bus stops or behind stone hedge walls to have a cup of coffee. I swore I’d never go back to do the other half. But here we are five years later with short memories. This trip is in May, one month later than the 2018 trip and average temperatures should be about 3°C warmer - we hope. This half is a shorter 400k owing to much of the path being washed away and we had the choice of walking inland on busy main A roads, or catching buses around teh affected damaged route. Being in our seventies, we chose to catch a few buses. We hope you enjoy reading about our journey.
