Dinner - Pork, mushrooms, Zucchini, onions with an Alsace Bruit Rose

Highlight was just having a relaxing day day in Paris.  Enjoying a sleep in because we can ti 7am, packing for our trip to Austria tomorrow, walking along teh Coulee Vertee to Bois de Vincennes and intermittently listening to the scores of Ash Barty playing   .  All on a beautiful not so hot day in Paris.

Our day started at 7am, though Ian was up a little earlier.  I flit off to the local boulangerie to by 2 baguettes - one artisan (bacon flavoured) and one plain  plain.  Then breakfast in our fabulous appartement overlooking Place de Nation - we’ll be back here again if Nathalie’s place is still available.  Then a walk down Bd Diderot to Gare de Lyon to check out how long it takes - 25 mins - and to the Halls and Platforms for tomorrow's TGV to Zurich.  At Gare de Lyon, the info on the deparyure boars=ds looks easy to follow,  so we walk back to the Viaduct to get on to the Coulee Verte whch takes us 4k back to almost the start of the Bois de Vincennes. It’s much quieter than when I was here a week ago with not so many day trippers as on a weekend.  Cooler and not so many people.  We wend our way through the bois, stopping for a Jetboiled coffee overlooking La Lac de Dumesmil, then continue on a mae of tracks towards the Chateau de Vincennes.  Time for lunch in the park opposite the chateau. Fresh baguette with butter and chees and a cup of coffee.

My Paris Practica, a useful little guide book to Paris - like a mini UBD - tells us we can shortcut across st Maund to pick up the Coulee Verte and soon we’re baclk on the green corridor heading back home.  It’s started to drizzle as we take the exit to Bd Picpus, then over to Riue de Picpus - very confiuing - and 10 minutes later we’re back at Place de Nation. Ian goes back to our appartement and I keep going to the local Monoprix to have a squizzy at the shops.

Back “home” and it’s a quick clean up/tidy up/pack up before having a beer and nuts whilst cooking dinner - pork fillet mignon, onions, mushrooms an zucchini with an Alsace Brut rose - champagne style.
