Cortina d’ampezzo
I’d been interested in visiting Cortina d’Ampezzi for a long time - ever since I found out it was the site of the 1956 Winter Olympics which coincided with the Melbourne Summer Olympics. And now that it has been allocated the Winter Olympics of 2026, it’s a good reason to visit the Dolomites and Cortina. It’s not an easy place to get to, the closest airport is Venice and not many airlines fly there. So it needed careful planning of buses and trains.
