My backpack for New Zealand weighs 9kg or 7.69kg without the compuer and charger. My backpack for our overseas hiking trips weighs less than 7kg, including the computer. The 2kg difference is that in New Zealand we stay at the Department of Conservation (DOC) huts where we need our own sleeping bags and need to bring enough food for the 4 or f days of teh hike. In New Zealand, I sometimes don’t take a compute whic together with the charger weighs 1.3kg, as there’s no power and my laptop battery only lasts a few hours so it’s a waste of weight. Instead I hand write a diary and “try” to blog it on my return.
