Another spectacular sunny day in Courmayeur. We’er awake at 6am, watching a live feed on the Tor des Glaciers before going down to breakfast at the Hotel Crampon, which was a magnificent spread of everything you could possibly think of. We wandered the streets mingling with hikers, tourists and street vendors selling their wares in Via Roma, and return to our Hotel Crampon to watch the Tor des Glaciers live feed again. It’s mesmerising to think they have been running all night and still going with no more than a five minute occasional break.
Breakfast was enough to keep us going til dinner time and at 6pm we stroll down the to local Express Carrefoures to buy some ham, bread, beer and cheese to go with our mace and tomatoes from last night. Our balcony has a stunning view of the Alps so what better place to have our picnic dinner.
