We awake to a magnificent day and Suzie has organised a picnic lunch ready for a walk to Crantock Beach. It’s 10.30am and a cool 12°C when we leave to walk down the steep Zig Zag Path to the Gannel and because it’s low tide, we can walk across the tidal foot bridge to the village of Crantock.
It’s Sunday and Crantock Beach is crowded so we contine along the cliffs to a seat overlooking the ocean and spread out our picnic lunch of left over lamb, olives, dried tomatoes and fresh bread - washed down with a jet boiled cup of tea.
By the time we return to cross the Gannel, the tide has his risen and completely covered the footbridge, so off with the shoes to paddle through the freezing cold water, the English swimmers seemingly oblivious to the temperature.
Back to Pentire and pre-dinner drinks in the garfen before a meal of Atlantic salmon and salad. Another early night after doing som re-packing ready for the start of our walk in teh morning.
