We’re on our way home having completed the second half of the South West Coast Path from St Mawes to South Haven Point. In 2018, we completed the first half from Minehead to Falmouth.
The alarm has been set for 2.00am but we’re both awake before that to quickly shower, have a cup of tea, and re pack a few things before leaving our studio apartment at 3.15am. The National Express bus station is just 5 minutes walk over the road and it’s a cold morning as we wait for the bus with a dozen other people. It leaves on the dot of 3.50am and with no traffic on the road, we arrive at Terminal 4 Heathrow at 5.50am. Time for a coffee and another re pack, before checking in and scoring Business Class to Doha. Bonnie has re-routed us several times according to loads with great success. Thanks Bonnie.

At Doha, eagle eyed Bonnie suggests teh Doha Melbourtne flight looks best, and it is. Again we’re on Business Class in their new booth style cabins, with a sliding door making it very private. At 4.30pm after a seamless flight we arrive in Melbourne, and walk to the Domestic Terminal for teh 7.30 pm Virgin flight to Brisbane.
Home after and amazing holiday. My brother John rings and says buy a lotto ticket because severe thunder storms are predicted in Devon and Cornwall this weekend. We can be so lucky to be out before that!
